Two injured in DUI crash, police chase in Clearfield County

Pike Township, PA – Two people were injured in a DUI crash while fleeing from police in Clearfield County.

43-year-old Edward Anderson from Olanta had been fleeing from a marked State Police vehicle that had attempted to pull him over just before 1 a.m. on Feb. 27.

He led police at a high rate of speed for about three miles. Finally, he lost control on a curve on Hemlock Hollow Road in Pike Township, near Curwensville.

The vehicle went down an embankment and struck several trees.

Anderson and his passenger, 36-year-old Jamie Witherite from Olanta, suffered injuries of unknown severity and were taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield.

Neither one of them had been wearing their seat belt.

Anderson is facing charges of DUI and likely other charges related to fleeing a marked police vehicle.
