Two DuBois Roadways Seeing Parking Changes

DUBOIS – Lawmakers in the City of DuBois have passed measures to change parking on two city streets.

Originally brought forward by law enforcement, they suggested closing off parking to West Scribner Avenue on Monday through Friday and South Stockdale Street limiting parking to one side of the street.

“The one on Stockdale was a problem because most of that is so narrow to get through,” explained Officer Shawn McCleary. “Especially with emergency vehicles, and I don’t even want to talk about fire trucks.”

“As far as the one on Scribner, that used to be a one way road,” stated McCleary. “And we’re trying to get out of there with emergency vehicles and things of that nature.”

In the end, both measures passed with Jim Aughenbaugh voting against the West Scribner motion stating that more can be done to give everyone parking.
