PUNXSUTAWNEY – State Police are investigating an incident of alleged domestic violence in Jefferson County earlier this week.
According to a trooper’s report, both a 36-year-old Punxsutawney woman and a 39-year-old Punxsutawney man were arrested at the scene. The man is accused of strangling the woman during a fight, while the woman is suspected of assaulting the man, punching him in the face several times and causing a bloody nose.
Police say the man also attempted to dive headfirst into a frozen swimming pool at a Young Township residence.
The names of the suspects are being withheld while the investigation is ongoing.
