Two area police departments set to merge March 5th

CLEARFIELD – March 5th is the date set for the official merger of the Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township Police Departments into what will  be the Clearfield Regional Police Department.

Last week, Clearfield Borough Police had completed their operational move into the Lawrence Township Municipal Building. Regional Chief Vincent McGinnis reported that the  transition process is going smoothly.

The first purchase of the new regional police department is tactical helmets and gas masks which will cost more than $17,000. The new equipment will be be purchased with money from the Police Department Donation Fund Account.
