DUBOIS – Turnabout Boxing is celebrating five years of operation as they open their second location.
Executive Director Greg Gillal (gil-all) told us that this new site in the DuBois Mall will expand the organization’s mission with plans to grow in the future.
“This specific location is our outreach center,” explained Gillal. “We’ll be adding senior programs, we’ll also be doing a box fit here. Hopefully at the start of the next school year we can run an after-school program for kids.”
This new location was made possible by the Hometown Heroes Award from Lowe’s along with support from several local partners.
Gillal says that Turnabout Boxing was inspired by his daughter Aviana, who turned a difficult experience into a mission to create opportunities for others in the community.
