Clarion, PA – A trucking company in Clarion accepted a check for more than $4,600 that turned out to be bad.

State Police in Ridgway say that M and B Services received the check for $4,618.08 from a known 41-year-old man from Penfield in March.

It turns out that there were not sufficient funds in the man’s account to cover the check.

The investigation is ongoing.

Knowingly writing a bad check is fraud, no matter how much money it is.

Usually theft by bad check cases involve a relatively small amount of money being lost, but the company in this case lost thousands of dollars from just one bad check.
