Truck hauling tofu catches fire on I-80

Lawrence Township, PA – A commercial truck hauling tofu caught fire on Interstate 80 near Clearfield on Friday morning.

Around 3:40 a.m. Friday, Lawrence Township Fire Company 5 was dispatched for a fire at mile marker 120 on I-80.

When crews arrived, the trailer was also fully involved but the tractor portion of the vehicle had been disconnected.

Firefighters extinguished the flames without issue.

The truck was later found to contain tofu, a meatless protein.

This morning at 3:40am Company 5 was dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire along Interstate 80 at the 120 mile marker. Initial reports indicated the unit was to be on the Clearfield exit off ramp. Chief and Engine 5 responded arriving on scene to find a fully involved trailer with the tractor disconnected. Crews on Engine 5 went to work extinguishing the fire without issue.
