HARRISBURG – Fourteen senior community centers in Clearfield, Jefferson, and Elk Counties will be receiving grants funded by proceeds from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The Brockwayville Depot in Brockway was awarded a larger, competitive grant of $10,000 for improvements and renovations.

Grants of more than $2,500 will be going to the community centers of DuBois, Clearfield, Mahaffey, Kylertown, Houtzdale and Coalport in Clearfield County; Brookville and Punxsutawney in Jefferson County; and Bennetts Valley, Fox Township, St. Marys, and Jones Township in Elk County.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the grant monies will be used to ensure older adults are supported in familiar, local places with services to stay healthy and connected to their communities.
