Treasure Lake Water Rates Increasing

SHARE NOW

SANDY TWP. – Treasure Lake residents have been notified of an upcoming increase in water service rates, and Sandy Township Supervisors will be looking into what, if anything, they can do about the situation.

At Monday’s meeting, the Sandy Supervisors discussed the rate increase on the way for Aqua PA customers in the gated community.

Supervisor Barry Abbott noted that the increase could be as high as 58% for some customers.

Township and City of DuBois Manager Shawn Arbaugh said he will look into what can be done, including coordination with the Treasure Lake Board of Directors.

In other action at the Monday meeting of Sandy Township Supervisors:

Projects:

·         Sandy Township is seeking a $855 thousand multimodal grant for the Wolf-Mountain Run Road Project.

o   Usually a matching grant, the Township is seeking to have the matching requirement waived.

·         Green-Light Go Project was approved and awarded to M&B Construction.

o   Sandy Township’s share of the project, in partnership with the City of DuBois, is $135,963.

·         Sandy Township voted to award the line painting bid to “Lines for Less”.

o   The total project cost is $32,000.  $14,000 is the Township’s share.

o   This was the second attempt at bidding out the project.  The first group of bids rejected for being too high.
