Tornado confirmed over weekend in Elk, Jefferson Counties

Elk County, PA – The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado struck parts of Elk and Jefferson Counties over the weekend.

The NWS says an EF-1 tornado with winds near 90 mph occurred at 8:08 a.m. Saturday morning in Millstone Township, Elk County.

The tornado snapped and uprooted multiple trees.

This is the same tornado that impacted Clear Creek State Park in Jefferson County with EF-0 damage.

The National Weather service confirmed an EF0 Tornado with maximum winds of 85 mph touched down between 8:08 and 8:09 a.m. in Heath township, Jefferson County.

The path is 260 yards wide and 3/4 mile long. A majority of the damage was near the Clarion River along PA-949.
