UNDATED – Tik-Tok, the extremely popular video short creating, sharing, and discovering platform was temporarily banned over the weekend. Now, the future of the video platform is uncertain.
Recent legislation made it so the platform would be banned in the United States if the app’s Beijing based parent company did not sell it to a non-Chinese client.
While the Biden administration decided to delegate the enforcement to President elect Donald Trump, Trump has now given an extension to the social media to try and mediate the legislative battle.
Many in the DuBois area use the app to create video shorts, and some even use it as a way of earning income.
