Three Tri-County area residents sentenced in connection with drug trafficking

PITTSBURGH – A DuBois man, Sykesville woman, and Kersey man have been sentenced in federal court this week for their involvement in drug trafficking.

According to court documents, 37-year-old Chad Gasbarre of DuBois, 55-year-old Christina Shaffer of Sykesville, and 33-year-old Melvin Shelander of Kersey were convicted for being involved in a drug pipeline which stretched from California to Western Pennsylvania.

Gasbarre and Shaffer were both sentenced to five years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Shelander will serve more than two years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release.
