CURWENSVILLE – Three firefighters were hurt, and two garages were destroyed in a Saturday afternoon blaze in Curwensville.

A report from Clearfield County volunteer fire departments and EMS indicates that two of the firefighters were injured when a roof collapsed while they were inside one of the garages. Flames reportedly spread from one garage to another on High Street in Curwensville Borough, and two nearby houses were damaged due to the blaze. Injuries to the three firefighters were said to be minor, but all three were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
