HARRISBURG – In an effort to strengthen the security of local communities, nearly $800,000 in state grants have been awarded to three different Clearfield County law enforcement agencies.

The police departments of Sandy Township, Clearfield Borough and Curwensville Borough will be using the grant money for communications system upgrades, cameras, license plate readers, and programs focused on officer retention and recruitment.

Sandy Township will receive more than $560,000, Curwensville is getting more than $95,000, and Clearfield’s grant will be over $75,000.

The grant money is provided through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program.
