Thousands of valentines and “candygrams” delivered to DuBois Continuum of Care residents

DUBOIS – In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, more than 2,000 valentines and “candygrams” were delivered to the residents of the DuBois Continuum of Care on Friday.

The project was lead by Sunny 106, the Hope Squads of the DuBois Area Middle and High schools, and Family Dollar of DuBois and Big Run, and it was sponsored by Royers 322 Auto.

Superintendent of DuBois School District Wendy Benton said the schools’ partnership in the Valentines Day gifting dates back to the summer of 2017 when residents and staff of the DuBois Continuum of Care Community prepared backpacks full of school supplies for students in need. In addition to this year’s delivery of  cards, crafts, placemats, and jokes, students in Ms. Checchio’s 4th grade class at Wasson Elementary made eight heart-shaped pillows to share with the residents.
