DUBOIS – Over 100 middle and high schoolers entered into the 2024 Think Don’t Drink radio PSA contest, showcasing the dangers of drinking alcohol.
Thursday night we celebrated three middle schoolers and three high schoolers for creating the best public service announcements.
For middle schoolers, 7th grader Sophia Richards from DuBois Area Middle School won 3rd place. 5th grader Addilyn Smith, from DuBois Christian School placed 2nd. And 7th grader Natalie Cramer from DuBois Area Middle School won 1st place.
For high schoolers, 11th grader Addison Smith from DuBois Central Catholic placed 3rd. 11th grader Mackenzie Holmes from Brockway High School won 2nd. And 10th grader Lily Davidson from DuBois Central Catholic won 1st place.
The winners have all recorded their PSAs and then began airing on Sunny106 and ConnectFM Friday.
The winners were chosen by three members of the community, District Attorney Ryan Sayers, Karen Orner from the Clearfield-Jefferson County Drug and Alcohol Commission, and Gil Barker from the Sandy Township Police Department.
First place winners got an Ipad, second place got Air Pod Pros, and 3rd won a $100 Sheetz gift card. This event is all possible by a grant from the PLCB.
