Thieves approach Shippenville man about driveway work, steal safe

Shippenville, PA – A Shippenville man says five men stole a safe from his home after approaching him about doing work around his house and driveway.

The 70-year-old victim says five white and Hispanic men, ranging from around 18 years old to somewhere in their 50s, approached him at his home on Cresmont Drive in Paint Township, Clarion County, on Wednesday afternoon.

What appeared to be the leader of the group, a Hispanic man around 55 years old with a goatee and a diamond earring in each ear, asked to do work around the house, specifically the driveway.

One of the other men asked to use the bathroom inside the house. The other men distracted the victim.

They reportedly ended up taking a black SentrySafe with precious valuables inside.

The men then fled on Route 322. They were driving a early 2000s white GMC heavy duty pickup truck with dual wheels, a white cap, and front end damage.
