Theft of $800 silver coin from mail

Reynoldsville, PA – A coin worth about $800 was stolen from the mail.

A 56-year-old Reynoldsville man had ordered the one ounce Canadian silver maple leaf coin, worth $795.25.

Although the package had arrived in the mail, it appeared to have been damaged and then resealed by the postal service.

The coin that was supposed to be inside the package was missing.

The victim believes the theft happened sometime between Oct. 26 and 29.

State Police in DuBois are investigating.
