DUBOIS – Students at the DuBois Area High School got a hands-on lesson in real world finances during a “Reality Fair” held yesterday.

This event gives students a budget for housing, transportation, and everyday expenses based on a chosen career path.

As Mikaela Loy, a Business Development Specialist at Priority First FCU, explains, this event is meant to teach students the importance of financial literacy .

“So, it gives the students an idea of what things are going to look like after they graduate college and start their first career,” explained Loy Making smart financial decisions, it just kind of puts that into perspective for them.”

This Reality Fair is one of many held at local high schools, all aimed at preparing students for a life beyond the classroom
