DUBOIS – Symmco of Sykesville employees and Penn State DuBois students have developed a new, lightweight alloy which will help the local powder metallurgy industry keep pace with the acceleration of electric vehicle production.

According to the Engineering Department at Penn State DuBois, the newly fabricated copper-based alloy has high power density.

In order to meet performance and efficiency standards, EV automakers are favoring copper-based parts and components.

The ongoing partnership between Symmco and Penn State DuBois was made possible by the Manufacturing PA Innovation Program.
