DUBOIS — Attorneys representing suspended DuBois City Manager Herm Suplizio have been given another two months to file pretrial motions in the federal case against him.
A federal judge extended the filing deadline from today, January 2nd, to March 4th , and noted in the order that it will provide Suplizio and his defense more time to prepare for the case.
A variety of charges have been filed against Suplizio, and former DuBois city employee Bobbie Shaffer, related to the alleged theft of over half-a-million dollars from the city of DuBois. Under federal sentencing guidelines, Suplizio and Shaffer could face up to 45 years in prison and as much as $1.2 million in fines if they are found guilty.
