HARRISBURG – Normally, a fishing license is required before you can cast a line into the water. But this Sunday, May 26th, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is offering a statewide “Fish-for-Free” day.

All day Sunday, a fishing license is not required for you to fish. The Commission does note, however, that all other regulations, including seasons, sizes and creel limits, still apply. Those fishing regulations are available to view online at fishandboat.com.

If you need to borrow a rod and reel, the Commission is also offering a fishing tackle loaner program at dozens of locations across the state. A map of the loaner sites is also available online.

There will be a second statewide “Fish-for-Free” day on the 4th of July.
