Summerville Man Accused of Assaulting MInor

SUMMERVILLE – A Summerville man is facing several charges after a forensic investigation allegedly linked him to a 2024 sexual assault.

According to police they began investigating 33 year-old James McCullough after a victim claimed he sexually assaulted her at a Summerville Apartment.

Police say that a sexual assault examination allegedly linked McCullough to the assault.

When questioned in May of 2025, he allegedly denied knowing the victim. After being shown the DNA report, he allegedly admitted to knowing her and having a sexual encounter.

After questioning he was charged with corruption of minors and taken to the Jefferson County Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for March 25th
