DUBOIS – The DuBois community turned out to the City Park over the weekend to show support and raise awareness for suicide.
Hosted by the Clearfield-Jefferson Suicide Prevention Team, the 15th annual Suicide Prevention Walk saw dozens of community members, alongside vendors and local groups come out to raise awareness.
According to the Clearfield-Jefferson Suicide Prevention Team Chair and suicide victim, Brian Soltys, you can help anyone in need by just reaching out.
“If you’re concerned about someone who is exhibiting behaviors that you might think be indicating that they might be depressed, or anxious, or just not themselves, don’t be afraid to use the word suicide,” explained Soltys. “Ask, just say are you thinking about suicide. You might be the person who saved their life.”
If you need assistance, or know someone that needs help Soltys says there is always hope and urges you to talk to someone, whether it be a friend, family member, or mental health professional.
