CLEARFIELD – A stolen vehicle report in Clearfield led to two juveniles leading police in a car chase and subsequent foot pursuit Monday.
State Police out of DuBois initially received reports of a vehicle reported stolen out of Ohio traveling on the Rockton Mountain Highway.
State Police attempted to perform a traffic stop, at which point the vehicle sped up in an attempt to flee from officers.
Officers with the Clearfield Regional Police Department joined the pursuit as the stolen vehicle barreled down West Front Street to West Pine Street, and into the West Side of the Borough where it reportedly drove through multiple yards in an attempt to flee police.
The vehicle ultimately came to a stop at the end of West 7th Avenue and Clearfield Street, at which point the female driver and male passenger began to flee on foot.
The passenger was caught by police, however the driver was able to elude authorities. She was located along West 7th Avenue approximately 45 minutes later with a cell phone allegedly stolen from a resident on West 6th Avenue.
The two juveniles from Ohio were taken into custody and will be charged by DuBois State Police.
