Winslow Township, PA – A stolen vehicle was likely involved in a police chase in Jefferson County.
The red 2017 Hyundai Sonata was taken from outside a home in the 600 block of West Weber Avenue in DuBois on Friday, Aug. 21 around 7 p.m.
Then, just about an hour later at 8:15, State Police from the DuBois Barracks got involved in a pursuit of a vehicle matching that same description that began on Grant Street Extension in Reynoldsville.
The vehicle fled onto Route 310 and was last seen by police on Sportsman Dam Road. The suspect was not captured.
It’s believed the person who stole the car changed the license plate. The first three letters of the new plate are believed to be LFG.
The PA registration plate belonging to the vehicle is HXC 8273, but the Hyundai Sonata will likely not still have that plate. The vehicle’s VIN is 5NPE24AF5HH552666.
