UNDATED – While the heat advisory for our area is over, temperatures are still going to be high as the summer season continues. We give you a few tips on how to stay safe.
Applying the right type of sunscreen is critical for keeping off dangerous sun rays. So when applying, make sure to use one that protects you from UVA and UVB with higher than SPF 30.
Also drink plenty of water. Drinking more water will replenish the fluids that you sweat. Also having low sugar sports drinks can also replenish salts and minerals.
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can be common with weather like this, so if you start experiencing dizziness, heavy sweating, nausea, confusion, or weakness move fast to a cool area and drink cool water/ice. If symptoms worsen seek medical help.
