CLEARFIELD – State road maintenance projects will be in full bloom this week in Clearfield County, and PennDOT says there could be some traffic delays that may impact your daily commutes.

Today, a resurfacing project is expected to begin in Philipsburg on a three-mile portion of Route 53.

Traffic flow will be restricted to a single lane between the intersections of Route 322 and Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough, and between the Clearfield/Centre County line and the intersection of Route 144 in Snow Shoe Township.

You will want to watch for flaggers in the roadway providing traffic control.

Some of the other maintenance projects to watch for include ditch cleaning along Route 4015 near DuBois, bridge cleaning throughout the county, mowing and shoulder work along Interstate 80 between mile markers 120 and 137, sign upgrades throughout Clearfield County, pipe flushing on Route 53 near Irvona, and milling and patching on Routes 453 and 729 near Curwensville and Lumber City.

PennDOT says the milling and patching work between Routes 453 and 729 have caused traffic delays that are expected to continue this week.

As always, be sure to use extra caution in work areas, and be aware that maintenance project crews could be working at any time of the day or night
