HARRISBURG – State Police responded to many more Christmas holiday weekend crashes this year compared to last year on Pennsylvania roadways.
A total of 661 vehicle accidents were reported this year, compared to 488 last year.
State troopers say seven people died and 113 others were injured in accidents they responded to from December 23rd through December 25th.
Alcohol was a factor in two of those fatal crashes.
Troopers also reported the arrest of 116 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the three-day holiday period.
