State Police Announce Memorial Day Weekend Travel Data

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania State Police have released the results of this year’s Memorial Day Weekend enforcement detail.

During the four-day period from May 24th through the 27th, troopers reportedly investigated 756 crashes on commonwealth roadways.

Six people were killed in those crashes, and there were 181 injuries.

State Police say intoxicated driving was a factor in one of the fatalities, and 46 of the crashes.

There were a total of 467 drug or alcohol DUI arrests, and more than 28,000 citations issued during the Memorial Day Weekend.
