Starr Hill Vineyard and Winery owner receives Small Business Person of the Year

CURWENSVILLE – Ken Starr, the owner of Starr Hill Vineyard and Winery in Curwensville, has been selected as the U.S. Small Business Administration-Western Pennsylvania Veteran-Owned Small Business Person of the Year.

Next month, Starr will receive the award during a special ceremony at his winery celebrating National Small Business Week.

Starr opened his vineyard and winery in 2005 when he was 65 years old.

He is 82 today.

Prior to his vineyard and winery business, Starr served in the United States Air Force, worked in the contact lens industry, and owned and operated craft stores.
