Starbucks Coming to Sandy Township

SHARE NOW

SANDY TOWNSHIP – A new Starbucks location will be coming to Sandy Township next year.

At the Monday night Sandy Township board of supervisors meeting, a new location for the national coffee chain was approved.

The property land development was granted a waiver for stormwater handling. The township manager, Shawn Arbaugh, admitted that measure is often done due to the ordinance’s wording.

He also said the city’s version is the same and would be looked at during the consolidation process.

Construction is expected to last until April 15th, at which point the property would be handed over to Starbucks where they would begin furnishing the building. A process that normally takes four months.

Other items of note from the meeting are below.

The Sandy Township Fire Department will host “Touch a Truck” at Walmart in September.

They will also be hosting a burn class in September that will include burning down an actual house on Route 255.

This year’s YMCA Park Program saw the highest enrollment yet, allowing parents to drop off their children from 10 am to noon in the summertime.

The new YMCA Executive Director is already working on plans to increase enrollment even more next year.
