
RIDGWAY – Two Elk County police departments have been awarded grants by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to help purchase body-worn cameras.
St. Marys’ City Police is receiving more than $158,000 to help purchase the cameras, plus provide defensive tactics and use of force training for its officers.
The Ridgway Borough Police agency is getting more than $111,000 for body-worn cameras.
The grant money is a portion of $135 million provided statewide through the Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program.
