Skill Games Leaving DuBois

DUBOIS – Skill Game locations in the City of DuBois will soon be limited within the municipality.

This news follows an outcry from the public and Downtown DuBois Board President Lisa Gabler about the blight caused by skill game locations.

Most claims about the skill games locations were dens of drugs and homelessness, on top of being an unsupervised place that children could just wander into.

Now, according to Councilman Elliot Gelfand, skill games’ days are numbered.

“We have existing ordinances that prohibit certain uses within the zones that those skill game locations are in,“ explained Councilman Gelfand. “And we provided them notification that the skill game use is not a confirmative use to what they’re zoned for currently, and have given them 10 days to remove those machines.”

It was stated that violations were sent to four different places, the Redneck Casino, DuBois Mini Mart, and two unnamed locations on East Long Avenue and Jared Street.
