DUBOIS – Sidewalk construction in the City of DuBois and Sandy Township is almost complete, however construction delays will last into next season.
Crews began installing new sidewalks along Maple Avenue and Shafer Road in August.
Initial construction was delayed going into the month of October due to backorder of necessary supplies.
Now, according to City and Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh, it is too late into the year to finish the installation.
“We did get a grant for the sidewalk project along Maple Avenue and down Shaffer,“ explained Arbaugh. “The sidewalks on Maple are just about complete, so we’re glad to get that done. Unfortunately it looks like we don’t have enough time to finish the road work associated with Shaffer Road so in the spring of 2025 it will be completed.”
