DuBois, PA – About 23 kids got pick out gifts for themselves and their families during the first local Shop with a Cop event.
Officers from the City of DuBois, Sandy Township, Brockway, and the State Police paired up with elementary kids from the DuBois and Brockway School Districts.
The kids were chosen by the administration at the schools based on who they felt would benefit from the experience.
The kids were given $100 that they could spend at the DuBois Walmart, and police went along with them to provide some company while the kids carefully considered what they would buy.
Santa Claus even made an appearance at the end of the Shop with a Cop experience, meeting with kids to take photos and hear their wishes.
