DUBOIS – There is a change at a longtime DuBois Pharmacy, but for customers, it should be a familiar transition.
Thomas Bowser has retired after nearly 40 years as the owner of Shankel’s Pharmacy. His nephew, Chris Heasley is taking over, making him the third family to own the pharmacy in its 103 year history.
Bowser told us the change should be seamless, with Chris having worked at the pharmacy for more than 13 years.
“Chris is an excellent pharmacist. He has the same way of treating people that we do.”
Bowser also emphasized that Shankel’s has always been built on personal, community-focused service, because, as their longtime slogan says, caring for you is what they do.
