CLEARFIELD – Several slow-moving windmill “superloads” are expected to roll through Clearfield County today and tomorrow, possibly causing traffic delays.
According to PennDOT, loads of windmill tower sections will travel the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 from Falls Creek Exit 97 to Clearfield Exit 120, then onto Routes 879, 322 and 153.
Today’s loads will need to make a wrong-way maneuver near the Clearfield Bypass.
Tomorrow, Friday, loads of windmill blades will follow the same path, but will not be making the wrong-way maneuver.
Windmill parts and supplies are being moved from the Port of Erie to a location near Tyrone.
