Senior Scholastic Challenge postponed

DuBois, PA – The Senior Scholastic Challenge has been postponed due to concerns from Penn State.

The Senior Scholastic Challenge has been postponed in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Carol Foltz, the event organizer, is working to reschedule the event.

All Penn State classes are being taught remotely at least through April 6th and events are either canceled or being rescheduled. Penn State DuBois campus remains open and faculty and staff are working diligently to continue serve our students and communities.

The Senior Scholastic Challenge is now in its 33rd year! It’s a battle of wits between local schools to see which team can answer the most questions correctly… about a wide variety of subjects!

Carol Foltz, the longtime organizer of the event, says that, even though the students get prizes, most of the kids are there just to have fun and show off their skills.

Listen to the full interview with Carol, including why she loves seeing the kids compete, why the program was started, and even some examples of some questions the students might be asked.

Students will be competing from DuBois, DuBois Central Catholic, Brockway, Brookville, Clearfield, and St. Marys.

Two weeks ago, the DuBois Central Catholic team won the 23rd Annual Junior Scholastic Challenge.

DCC won both the Junior and Senior Scholastic Challenges in 2019.
