DuBois, PA – Some of our local schools visited yesterday, dropping off their donations for the 28th annual Make-A-Wish Light Up a Child’s Life campaign, raising money for magical wishes for kids with critical illnesses.

For many of these schools, this year was either one of the highest numbers they’ve raised or the absolute largest amount they’re raised in one year… that’s incredible, especially considering the pandemic.

Brockway Area School District raised $6,650 for Make-A-Wish this year! They stopped by to explain how they raised it and even sang two songs at once for us! 

Lacy Bair, regional director of Make-A-Wish, describes how DuBois Area High School raised $10,699.65 for Make-A-Wish with their fundraising efforts, especially their Mr. and Mrs. DuBois contest! 

Valerie Walker, who started the Doug Walker Memorial for her late husband, talks along with the rest of the group about how they raised $1,00 with their annual bike run for Make-A-Wish!

DuBois Area School District’s Juniata Elementary collected $5,090.80 for Make-A-Wish this year! They shared some of the ways that they raised the money, plus sang Jingle Bells for us.

Dubois Area Middle School raised $4,798.92, granting more than a full wish for Make-A-Wish in 2021!

Oklahoma Elementary in the DuBois Area School District raised an incredible amount of money for Make-A-Wish in 2021… $6,602.59! 

DASD’s Wasson Elementary raised more than an entire wish this year… $4,420! The kids talk about how they raised the money and sing a song.

Cheyenne Wean, a Make-A-Wish recipient, talks about her wish and how she is actually one of two wish kids in her family! Chy talks about her wish, which was to go to Disney World.

 Brittany Stanton and the rest of the Penn State DuBois Make-A-Wish volunteers talk about how PSUD raised $2,193 for Make-A-Wish this year!

A very special donation was also made by Brock Roy, a wish kid who brought in $500 himself to give back so that other kids like him get their wishes granted!
