School bus misses stop, backs up, strikes vehicle in Indiana County

North Mahoning Township, PA – A school bus caused an accident when the driver missed a stop and backed up into another vehicle in Indiana County, but thankfully no one was injured.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5 along Route 119 in North Mahoning Township, between Marion Center and Punxsutawney.

The bus driver, 53-year-old Joshua Neidermyer from Mahaffey, missed a stop and backed up.

The rear of the school bus struck the front of a Chevy Traverse, driven by 62-year-old Marylynn Lemmon from Rochester Mills.

She had injuries of unknown severity but refused transport to the hospital by EMS.

The bus driver and the 18 children on board, most of which are from Rochester Mills, were not injured.
