DuBois, PA – There’s a chance that Sandy Township and DuBois could consolidate and operate as one government, not two separate localities.
This idea has been brought up many times over the years, and it was officially considered two other times by the city council and township board. However, it was voted down the last time it was debated in 2002.
Now, in the most recent turn of events, Sandy Township Supervisors voted on Monday to approach the City of DuBois about possibly consolidating and working together.
The first step is finding out if everyone is in agreement about even funding a study to determine the benefits and drawbacks of consolidation.
The City of DuBois is expected to talk about the proposal at the next city council meeting on Monday.
Visit the Sandy Township Supervisors website or the DuBois City website for contact info and information about the localities.
