DuBois – During the Sandy Township Supervisors meeting Monday night, the public alert solution CodeRED was presented to the board.
Local Emergency Management Coordinator Larry Bickel presented the program, which allows correspondence between the public and emergency personnel in the event of an evacuation, missing person alert, weather advisory, etc. using geolocation.
Recently, this program was used during the active shooter incident outside of Treasure Lake.
Bickel said that he has used CodeRED with success over the past few years.
