Sandy Township – At the Sandy Township Supervisors meeting Monday night, the Supervisors unanimously approved North Point Fire Department’s request for Quick Response Service (QRS) status.
Having QRS status would allow North Point to be dispatched to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke and severe trauma in the Treasure Lake and Sabula areas.
This change will increase the township’s roughly $33,000 insurance by a little over $1,000 per year.
Sandy Township Manager Shawn Arbaugh also wanted to remind residents about the township shredding event at the township building on October 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The limit is two boxes of materials.
