CLEARFIELD – A 19-year-old Rockton man will serve up to one year in the county jail after pleading guilty to leaving a six-month-old child unattended.

According to court documents, Brayden Smith had been charged with both child endangerment and reckless endangerment.

Those same charges have been filed against the child’s father, 34-year-old Zachary Clinchoc of Rockton.

Clinchoc allegedly asked Smith to watch the baby in August 2022.

Smith left the young child alone in the apartment between 20 to 30 minutes before a replacement babysitter arrived.

Earlier this week, Smith received a sentence of one month to one year in the Clearfield County Jail.

However, Smith also agreed to cooperate in the case against Clinchoc, who is scheduled for sentencing in December.
