PENFIELD – One sure sign that spring is here is that road work is popping up in the tri-county area. Scheduled to begin today in Clearfield County is a two-week repair project on the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 at the Penfield Exit 111 interchange, and a one-week project on Route 322 and Route 53 in Philipsburg.

During the I-80 project, PennDOT says to expect one lane traffic flow underneath the Route 153 bridge at the Exit 111 interchange as crews are making concrete repairs on the roadway. Only the westbound lanes of I-80 will be impacted, and the work is expected to be completed by April 28th.

In Philipsburg, concrete patching and sealing will take place in the westbound lane at the intersection of Route 322 and Route 53 from the area of Penn Highlands Healthcare to the traffic signal near Weiss Market. Traffic will be restricted to one eastbound and one westbound lane. PennDOT says delays are likely. The project is expected to be finished by Thursday.
