Reynoldsville woman pays over $1000 for dog she never received

REYNOLDSVILLE – Police in Jefferson County are investigating an alleged scam in which a Reynoldsville woman paid out over $1,000 for a dog she never received.

According to a report by State Police, the 63-year-old victim paid a total of $1,050 to the unidentified scammer during June.

She was expecting to receive a Shetland Sheepdog in return, but never did.

Authorities remind you to avoid scams by never providing your personal or financial information to somebody over the phone or online unless you have first verified their identity.
