REYNOLDSVILLE – A Reynoldsville woman is jailed in Jefferson County and charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly hit a man with a piece of wrought iron in front of her seven-year-old son.

Reynoldsville Police say 46-yearold Kristen Wertman was arraigned August 16th on the felony assault charge as well as eight other charges including child endangerment and corruption of minors. Police say there is video evidence of a fight between Wertman and the victim on August 6th at the man’s residence in Reynoldsville. The video reportedly shows Wertman picking up a piece of wrought iron and hitting the victim several times while her son is nearby.

Wertman is also accused of threatening and attempting to stab the man with a pen while the boy was watching. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 30th.
