Winslow Township, PA – A Reynoldsville man is in jail after allegedly having more than 300 child pornography images and videos.
64-year-old Edward Frank from the Reynoldsville area is facing numerous felony charges in an investigation that started nearly three years ago.
Back in August 2018, an undercover investigator began tracking shared files through a Bit Torrent file-sharing network. Some of those files led to Frank’s internet connection.
When police obtained a search warrant a few months later, they found multiple laptops, SD cards, and external hard drives that had images and videos of child pornography saved to them. In total, police found 281 images and 34 videos on devices owned by Frank.
It’s unclear why it took nearly three years for the charges to be filed, but we do know that sometimes it takes a while to collect substantial evidence for a case.
Edward Frank faces 315 counts of child pornography, one count of dissemination of photos of child sex acts, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, all of which are third-degree felonies.
He remains in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $70,000 bail.
Frank’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
