Harrisburg – We are having a statewide recount in Pennsylvania’s Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
Mehmet Oz is leading David McCormick by only 900 votes, so Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman ordered the recount.
When vote totals are within a one-half of one percent margin, a mandatory recount is triggered under state law.
Each Pennsylvania county will begin the process of recounting votes today, and the results must be submitted to the Department of State by Noon on June 8th.
